The
Winning Architects say:
- The green open healthy heart is the centre of the complex. It is nourished
by the energy of the flowing water and is capable of holding the various
locations together.
- All of the facilities for sports and events are lined up along a water
feature and the intensely landscaped "lake walk".
- The less frequented facilities - schools, academies or administration
units - are part of the central promenade and will be embedded in the
landscaped exterior which links all elements of the complex.
- The open playing fields and related facilities will be located to the
south of the water feature.
- The sports village is situated to the north west and again will have a
character all of its own.
- The 100 acre parkland will contain picnic areas, walks and gardens for all
the family.
